Salvatore Minardi Salon in Madison is displaying a painting created by a Morris County Vocational School District student, part of the Veterans Valor Paint and Donate Initiative that connected local students, businesses, and veterans through art and giving.
Through the initiative, students from the Morris County Vocational School District created paintings that were donated to local businesses. In return, participating businesses made a donation to Veterans Valor to support its mission of honoring and serving veterans.
The painting now on display at the salon was created by Claire of Parsippany, a recent graduate of the district’s Share Time Cosmetology Program. Claire finished high school this year while earning her New Jersey State Cosmetology License, and she has since begun her career as a stylist at Salvatore Minardi Salon, where her artwork now hangs for clients and visitors.
“This painting represents more than a beautiful piece of art,” said Salvatore Minardi, owner of the salon. “It represents the talent, dedication, and hard work of our local students while giving back to those who have served our country. We are honored to support this initiative.”
Minardi has supported the Morris County Vocational School District’s cosmetology program for more than 20 years, mentoring and employing graduates as they launch careers in the beauty industry.
The Veterans Valor Paint and Donate Initiative tied into the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution while honoring the sacrifices of the nation’s veterans. Community members can stop by Salvatore Minardi Salon in Madison to see Claire’s painting and book a haircut, color, or styling appointment.
The Morris County Vocational School District offers career and technical education programs ranging from auto service and construction trades to healthcare, performing arts, and cybersecurity, including full-time academies and Share Time programs. Individuals and businesses can support the cause through the Veterans Valor donation page. For more information about the initiative or the district, contact Gina DiDomenico at didomenicog@mcvts.org.
