Rockaway Township is throwing a daylong party for America’s 250th birthday, and the whole community is invited. Rockaway Township Day returns to Peterson Field on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2 to 8 p.m., with a rain date of June 7.
This year’s celebration leans into the country’s semiquincentennial with a theme the organizers are calling “iron spirit.” Families can expect food trucks, vendors, live music, inflatables, games, and activities spread across the turf at 98 Fleetwood Drive.
One of the day’s highlights is the Spirit of ’76 Vendor Challenge. Local vendors will compete for the title of Best Semiquincentennial Spirit, and the winner is decided by the public. The contest will be streamed live on Facebook, so attendees can wander the booths, snap photos, and vote for their favorite tent.
DJ Tom will keep the energy up all afternoon, spinning upbeat hits from the start of the event through sunset. Throughout the day, local talent will take over for live demonstrations across the field.
When the sun goes down, the celebration shifts into movie night. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and settle in on the turf for a screening of the “GOAT” movie at dusk.
Rockaway Township Day is a family-friendly way to mark the milestone with neighbors, friends, and family. Mark your calendar and head to Peterson Field on June 6.
