Morris County’s largest carnival is coming to Dover. The Town of Dover’s carnival at Crescent Field runs Wednesday, August 19 through Sunday, August 23, 2026, with rides for every age, midway games, carnival food, vendors, and a live DJ.
What to expect
Campy’s Amusements is bringing a full midway to Crescent Field, including the Giant Wheel, the Zipper, the Gravitron, the Ring of Fire, the Scrambler, and the Scat, alongside a deep bench of kiddie rides such as the Carousel, Tea Cups, Dragon Wagon, Frog Hopper, and Toy Town. Games of chance line the midway, food trucks set up on site next to carnival staples like cotton candy, popcorn, and fresh lemonade, and a live DJ keeps the music going under the lights each night.
Hours and pricing
The carnival runs 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, then opens earlier on the weekend, 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Unlimited ride wristbands are $45 per person per day at the gate. Campy’s Amusements has been selling presale wristbands for $35, and its event page lists the presale closing at midnight on August 18, so buying ahead saves ten dollars a head. If you would rather pay per ride, amusement credits are sold on site at $17 for 12 credits, $27 for 25, and $60 for 57, with individual rides costing anywhere from four to thirteen credits.
Good to know before you go
Riders must be at least 36 inches tall, and several rides carry their own height minimums or require an adult to ride along. Everyone under 18 has to be accompanied by an adult 21 or older, with a limit of four minors per adult. Open toed shoes are not permitted on the rides. There are no refunds for weather, so check the forecast before buying anything in advance.
Where it is and how to get there
Crescent Field sits at 120 First Street in Dover, with the midway set up in Parking Lot B. It is a short walk from the downtown district and from the Dover train station on NJ Transit’s Morristown Line, and an easy drive from Rockaway, Wharton, Mine Hill, and Randolph. Street parking fills up fast on a carnival night, so give yourself extra time and be ready to walk a couple of blocks.
