Summer is in full swing, and Morris County has a full weekend lined up for Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 2026, from a fireworks finale in Randolph to a lakeside celebration of America’s 250th in Mount Arlington. Here is where to spend it close to home.
The Randolph Freedom Festival caps its 50th year on Saturday, July 11 at the County College of Morris, 214 Center Grove Road. The festival runs from 6 to 11 PM with carnival rides, food, and live entertainment, and the weekend’s big fireworks show lights up the sky at 9:45 PM. Parking is a $5 suggested donation, and the rain date is Monday, July 13.
Over in Mount Arlington, the borough marks America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July 11 with an afternoon by the lake. A history walk-through and activity booths run from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at Memorial Park, then the celebration moves to the Municipal Beach on Lake Hopatcong for a free concert from 4 to 7 PM headlined by the Garrett Gardner Trio, fronted by New Jersey singer and The Voice finalist Garrett Gardner. Bring a blanket or a chair and settle in.
On Sunday morning, the Morristown Farmers Market runs 8:30 AM to 1 PM in Parking Lot 10J at Spring and Morris Streets, stocked with fresh produce, baked goods, live music, and local vendors.
For a family outing either day, Fosterfields Living Historical Farm at 73 Kahdena Road in Morris Township is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM, where you can meet the animals and see farm life as it was more than a century ago.
Prefer to stay cool indoors? The Morris Museum at 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown is open both days from 11 AM to 5 PM, with the Henri Matisse: Beyond Color exhibit on view through August 9.
There is plenty more happening across the county all season long. Dates and times can change with the weather, so check each event’s official page before you head out.
